BLUES FEST

Blues Fest, Originals

Blues Fest, Byron Bay

“I’ve been fortunate enough to cover live music for the last 20 years. I’d argue there is no better job in the world. I started at Rolling Stone Magazine in 2006, and ran around festivals and smelly downtown New York venues for years. It was the best.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of taking my family to Blues Fest in Byron Bay – and swapping out the stroller for a pack of Marlboro Reds..

Live music generates a feeling in our bones.

It literally rolls through us and makes us move. The chance for my kids to watch Gary Clark Jr. rip through a set was a memory I’ll take to the very end. I caught the first few songs in the pit, witnessed the intensity and mastery of Gary’s swagger on stage and fondly recalled the virtuosic live set of his we capture at Surf Lodge was a decade ago.

With all the chaos in the world right now, there is one solution that will bring you back to the present: live music. Loud live music. Go get some.”
