Somehow it never feels as though there’s enough hours in a day. For those lucky enough to spend time in the Arctic Circle this time of year, they’ll be able to have what seems like a never-ending day for the next month. To experience a natural occurrence known as the Midnight Sun is something of the surreal for most of the worlds population. This unreal time of the year allows for 24 hours of sunlight due to the earth’s tilted axis, creating all-day light spectacles for residents in higher latitudes, such as Iceland. Last week CONVICTS got a chance to explore what it’s like to live in the never-fading light in Reykjavik, Iceland, and experience the daylight that surrounds the Golden Circle after hours.
